The Lake Ontario Fishing Expo & Flea Market was put together by LOTSA to help with funding of the Trout & Salmon Pen Rearing programs along the Niagara and Orleans County shoreline. These Pen Rearing projects successfully reared over 150,000 Trout & Salmon in 2009 and are expecting similar numbers again for 2010.  These projects take a significant amount of man power and $$ to run. The typical pen costs over $1,400.00 and requires ongoing maintenance year after year.  When crises arise, such as the Salmon River Hatchery Egg Collection problems that occurred last fall, these pen projects become more important in insuring that we will have fish to catch in the future.

The Expo will also help satisfy the needs of the Lake Ontario Fishermen who have cabin fever at this time of the year by offering a series of seminars and the latest on both new and used tackle to purchase. We expect to have 46 tables manned by experienced Captains looking to sell both the tackle they rep for and some of their used equipment along with talking fishing. If your thinking about booking a Charter for 2010 this will be an excellent opportunity to to make that decision. With Spring right around the corner, use this opportunity to get the information and tackle that you need for the 2010 season.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase on site.

Admission is $5.00 per person with all proceeds going towards the Local Pen Rearing Projects

Each manufacturer has sponsored an hour of the EXPO when their products will be given away as door prizes.  Each hour, winners will be selected at random
from the number of Expo attendees through the door to that point.  The numbers will correspond to the number on the back of your admission ticket.  With your $5 admission (donation to the pen rearing projects) you will be entered into the door prize drawing and must be present to win the door prizes.
